If the ‘r’ is in the middle of a word or ends a word, it’s like the English “d”

estudiar – to study
mira – look
quiero – I want
trabajar – to work
Double “rr” (erre)
carro – car

More fun with Trabalenguas!
Trabalenguas – Tongue twisters. Repite 3 veces tan rápido como sea posible (say them 3 times as fast as possible)
1. Cinco celebraciones en el centro
2. camisa, cocina, cuchara
3. Jorge registra a la gente
4. treinta trompetas tranquilas
5. carro con perro con ferrocarril
Action step: Say the tongue twisters 3 times everyday for the next week to really work the sound and pronunciation. Pay special attention to the ‘soft g’ ge, gi – it can be tricky to remember.
