Today is workplace Spanish day so our focus is on 20 Spanish key words, car mechanics.
Every Monday we highlight a different career/occupation. Leave me a comment, let me know your occupation and I’ll get you 20 Spanish key words that can help you at work.
Remember: even if you don’t work in this field you most likely use these services or you may need to help a Spanish-speaker with their car or visa versa.
Trabajo en un taller/un garage – I work in a workshop/garage
Arreglo / Reparo – I fix / repair
-carros/coches/ – cars
la grúa – tow truck
No puedo arrancarlo. – I can’t start it.
Hace un ruido. – It makes a noise.
La batería no tiene carga. – The battery doesn’t have a charge.
¿Tiene cables? – Do you have cables?
las llantas / neúmaticos – tires
Tengo un pinchazo. – I have a flat.
¿Tiene un gato? – Do you have a jack?
Una avería – A breakdown.
Necesita gas. Vamos a llenar el tanque. – It needs gas. let’s fill the tank.
Voy a comprobar el aceite. – I’m going to check the oil.

los frenos – breaks
el freno de mano – emergency break
el volante – steering wheel
el silenciador – The muffler
el parabrisas – the windshield

Las bujías – sparkplugs

Action Steps: Jot these key words in your Spanish Blog 365 journal, then go out to your car and identify parts.
