Extended Family in Spanish

Hoy hablaremos acerca de la familia extendida.
Yesterday’s post was about family members and hooking our conversation with the verb tener and also possesive adjectives.
Preguntas: Contesta estas preguntas en voz alta.
1. ¿Cuántas personas hay en tu familia? – How many people are in your family?
2. ¿Tienes hermanos? – Do you have siblings?
¿Son mayores o menores? – Are they older or younger?
¿Dónde viven? – Where do they live?
3. ¿Tienes hijos? ¿Cuántos? – Do you have kids? How many?
¿Cuántos años tienen? – How old are they?
Respuestas posibles:
En mi familia hay 16 personas. – In my family, there are 16 people.
Tengo mi mamá y su novio. – I have my mom and her boyfriend.
Mi papá murió hace 2 años. – My dad died 2 years ago.
Tengo 2 hermanos, uno es mayor y el otro es menor. – I have 2 brothers, one is older and the other is younger.
Mi hermano mayor vive en las montañas y mi hermano menor vive en Nuevo México.
My older brother lives in the mountains and my younger one lives in New Mexico.
Tengo 2 hijos. – I have 2 kids.
Tienen 18 y 15 años. – They are 18 and 15 years old.
Tengo mi tía y un tío. – I have an aunt and an uncle.
Tengo 4 primos. – I have 4 cousins.
Tengo 2 cuñadas. – I have 2 sisters-in-law.
Tengo 2 sobrinas y un sobrino. – I have 2 nieces and a nephew.
Tienen 3, 8 y 23 años. – They are 3, 8 and 23 years old.
Yo tengo 35 años. – I’m 35 years old.
Mi padre nació en 1947. – My dad was born in 1947.
Vocabulario extra:
mayor – older
Tengo un/a hermano/a mayor. – I have 1 older brother/sister.
Tengo 2 hermanos/as mayores. – I have 2 older siblings/brothers/sisters.
menor – younger
Tengo un/a hermano/a menor. – I have 1 younger brother/sister.
Tengo 2 hermanos/as menores. – I have 2 younger siblings/brothers/sisters.
