Adjectives with ser
Today we’ll learn adjectives that end in an -e or a consonant.
1. As we saw yesterday, if an adjective ends in an -o, such as negro, it matches up (or agrees) in both gender and number of the word it is describing.
For example:
¿Prefieres el teléfono negro o blanco? – Do you prefer the black or the white phone?
la camisa negra – the black shirt
Me gustan frijoles negros – I like black beans
Tengo 2 plumas negras y una roja – I have 2 black pens and a red one.
Adjectives with ser:
2. However, adjectives that end in an -e or a consonant only agree in number, not in gender.
For example:
Es un hombre muy inteligente. – He’s a very intelligent man.
Es una mujer muy inteligente. – She’s a very intelligent woman.
Ellos son muy inteligentes. – They are very intelligent.
Es una comida natural – It’s a natural food.

Una lista de adjetivos que terminan en una -e o en una consonante:
agradable – pleasant
amable – kind
débil – weak
diferente – different
difícil – difficult
fácil – easy
fuerte – strong
grande – big
importante – importante
semejante – similar
colores
azul – blue
gris -gray
verde – green
Más ejemplos:
Es un día muy agradable – It’s a very pleasant day
Roberto y Kristina son 2 personas muy agradables – They are very lovely/pleasant people
Pablo tiene un acento muy fuerte. – Pablo has a really strong accent.
El niño lleva 2 zapatos diferentes. – The little boy is wearing 2 different shoes
Carola tiene los ojos azules. – Carol has blue eyes
Chiles verdes – green chiles
Action steps: Jot these words into your notebook and make a note about how there are different from the ones we did yesterday.
