Son las 8:00 de la tarde en Denver.
Son las 8:00pm en Denver.
¿Qué hora es en Los Angeles? (7:00pm)
¿y en Nueva York? (10:00pm)
¿Qué hora son en Chicago? (9:00pm)

It’s 4:00 on the dot

Hoy en el Post, exploramos la pregunta, ¿A qué hora?
All of the same concepts from yesterday apply to today’s question.
The only difference is that instead of saying, “It’s 4:00pm”, we’ll say, “At 4:00pm.”
Notice the difference between the two questions and the answers:

¿A qué hora?
A la una
A las dos
Es / Son = It’s
A = At
Vocabulario útil

A las 6:30pm. – At 6:30pm.

A las 6:45pm. – At 6:45pm.
Using the above as a model, switch out the words in italics above with words from the vocabulary list.

Andrés sale a la una.
¿A qué hora llega?
Llega a las 2:15.
¿A qué hora abre el mercado?
Abre a las 8:00am.
¿A qué hora cierra?
Cierra a las 2:30pm.
¿A qué hora comes el desayuno?
Yo como el desayuno a las 6:20am. ¿Y tú?
¿A qué hora trabajas en la mañana?
Yo trabajo a las 6:50am. ¿Y tú?
¿A qué hora estudias?
Yo estudio a las 8:30pm. ¿Y tú?
¿A qué hora regresan ellos?
Ellos regresan mañana a las 11:00pm.
Action steps:
1. Really compare and understand the difference between the 2 questions: ¿Qué hora es? and ¿A qué hora?
2. Really notice the difference between: Es la una and A la una as well as, Son las 2:00 and A las 2:00.
3. Repeat the above examples 5-8 times this week until you feel like you are thinking them (instead of translating them).
